My View on The Giver

In Jonas' world, there are lot of things that seem perfect. There are the perfect people with perfect families and perfect houses. They have perfect meals and perfect ideas of transportation along with their perfect jobs. But it is not so perfect as it seems. There are people who are segregated due to age and they are forced to do their jobs. They are forced into families and the people outside the community are forced to abide to rules to not go to the community. Jonas ran away from this community for many reasons. He wanted people to have their own memories and he wanted to make sure that Gabriel didn't get released. I wouldn't give up my life just to be free but I would give up many valuable items to find out how to leave seclusion.
Jonas and Givers Relationship
In this book, Jonas is bonding with the Giver, the communities Receiver of Memory. They have a bond like father and son due to their constant meetings. They are talking to each other every day and share memories with one another. They are very close because they have a near mental bond with each other due to the memory sharing. their bond can also be described as a ''bromance'' because of their relationship. They are like this because of their strong minds and advanced intellect they share between each other.
My ''Assignment"
For me, I have always wanted my job when I am an adult to be an engineer. I have wanted to be this job because i am very good with mechanical objects and building things. I have always been interested in this job because I want to help the world by inventing something that can help people around the world. The profession that makes use of such skills is an engineer because they build alot of things that help people worldwide. I think my parents would choose the same for me because I used to build "interesting" inventions with the Lego's. I would agree with the choice they made because I feel like I have the ability to make a mind-blowing invention that could advance the world we live in today.
Journal Response
In Chapter 1 of The Giver, they gave me a lot of information to retain throughout the book. I predict that the story is based on people who are destined to live a life chosen for them. They are given families with two kids, a wife, and a husband. The people are also further separated into age factions, such as Sevens and Elevens (no pun intended). The main character is Jonas, a child I know rarely about, but I have learned he is excited for December and his friend Asher is always getting trouble. Then, people always visit the community and pilots aren't allowed to fly over the Community. Soon, I feel like these things will correspond into the main story. This is crucial because it explained a lot of the story. While the story develops, we will learn more about Jonas and the Community.
